In winter, the Sonnenrast has a very special kind of magic. Even the journey up the mountain already feels like taking a break from everyday life, and once you reach the top, the view over the snow-covered slopes opens up and impresses every single time. The Sonnenrast is located right in the middle of the ski area and is easy to reach for everyone, whether on foot or on skis, as both walkers and skiers of all levels can get to us without any difficulty. If you take the Fleckalmbahn, it is only about 150 meters from the top station to reach us. From the Hahnenkammbahn, a beautiful winter hiking trail leads to us in about 30 minutes. The Sonnenrast cannot be reached by car. Getting back to the valley could not be easier for a hut in the middle of the ski area, as you can go straight to the gondolas or take the ski runs down to Kitzbühel and Kirchberg.

We are open daily. This makes us perfect for everything from a quick stop-in to a relaxed lunch. Many guests do not just stay for the food but also for our large sun terrace, which is an absolute favorite spot for many. Here you can enjoy the crisp mountain air, relax in the deck chairs, feel the warm rays of sun on your face, and simply switch off for a while. On some days, it almost feels like a mini vacation right in the middle of your ski day.

Our umbrella bar is also a popular meeting point for guests of all ages in a cheerful festive mood, while the cozy adjacent lounge invites you to unwind with a cocktail. Good music and happy guests create a great atmosphere and unique après-ski moments even during the week.

On weekends, things get really lively. The Sonnenrast transforms into a true party hotspot in our very own way with captivating house music, great drinks, and an energetic atmosphere you would not necessarily expect so high up on the mountain.
